Pakistan says the Iran–US agreement will be signed in Switzerland on Friday, 19 June. If there is substance to the statement, it would be a major victory for President Trump on his 80th birthday. There has been considerable back and forth.

Trump has said around thirty times that an agreement was close at hand, but Iran then imposed conditions that were entirely unacceptable to the United States.

Now it appears that Iran has capitulated. It has little choice: the military is on its knees. So is the economy.
