When I a few days ago expressed my concern over the ceasefire with Iran and Donald Trump’s public acknowledgements of negotiations with the Islamic fanatics, I could not know that several others were uneasy.
But they were, as attested by the former four-star general and now commentator on Fox News, Jack Keane, as well as the editorial board of the New York Post. They express confidence that Trump, as the businessman he is, surely knows what he is doing when he engages in talks with representatives of Iran’s theocracy. Yet beneath this proclamation a certain uncertainty may be discerned.
I too – if anyone should be interested – would prefer to “give Trump the benefit of the doubt” in the hope that he is aware of the deadly threat he is facing. But the mere fact that he is conducting negotiations with the Iranian regime gives cause for concern.
The Iranian theocracy is not like hard-boiled businessmen in New York. The regime is not like that of Vladimir Putin, the Chinese Communists, or North Korea. Nor can the mullah regime be compared with Maduro’s narco-regime in Venezuela or Cuba’s dictators. However evil they may be, they at least attempt to avoid a world war that would also lead to their own destruction.
It cannot be emphasised strongly enough that the Iranian Shia Muslims do not view the world in this way. They welcome Ragnarok, for they believe that a “twelfth imam” will then arise from a hole in the ground and impose Allah’s will upon the entire world. They therefore have no reason to adhere to any agreement whatsoever. For them, any agreement is merely a postponement, until Allah’s boys have gathered sufficient strength to continue their holy war.
Very few in the West understand this, and countless direct their hatred at Donald Trump – even to such an extent that they would applaud if the Iranian mullahs were to succeed in deceiving him and thereby pave the way for their ultimate goal, namely to acquire nuclear weapons that they could mount on their long-range missiles.
What Trump’s opponents have not understood, or do not care about, is what would happen to Western societies if the mullahs’ plan were to succeed. If they have not understood it, I shall explain it to them:
The day Tehran acquires nuclear weapons, the Islamic madmen will use them to force Europe’s spineless governments to submit to Islam. The demand from Iran will be as follows: Either you accept that Islamic law and sharia courts are granted official status in your countries, or we will send you a couple of missiles with nuclear weapons against which you cannot defend yourselves. If you do not pay for the construction of mosques everywhere, you may expect to be annihilated. If you allow any online media to criticise or mock the Prophet’s ideology, we shall let the hammer fall.
Do you wish Copenhagen to meet the fate of Hiroshima, or would you rather do as we say?
I know well what the political parties, the media, and the “experts” would say: For God’s sake, do as Islam demands.
This is how I view the perspectives in the Iran war, and I hope Trump has understood that the future of the world rests upon his shoulders.
