The American border enforcement figure Gregory Bovino is coming to Norway to speak at the Norgesdemokratene remigration conference ReMig26 in Oslo on Saturday 13 June.
Bovino is one of the most high-profile figures associated with the United States’ hard-line approach to illegal immigration under Donald Trump.
In October 2025, he was appointed “Commander at Large” in the United States Border Patrol, a newly created leadership position under US Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem. According to Norgesdemokratene, Bovino was given particular responsibility for strengthening the enforcement of American immigration law.
He is also said to have played a central role in efforts to reorganise the immigration authority ICE, with the aim of making the agency more effective in identifying and apprehending persons residing unlawfully in the country.
Bovino became particularly well known for leading several high-profile domestic operations targeting illegal immigration in American cities, including Los Angeles, Chicago, Charlotte and New Orleans.
He is now set to speak in Oslo.
“Gregory Bovino represents a unique combination of practical experience and political implementation capacity. He has been at the centre of the American migration crisis, led extensive operations and contributed to concrete reforms,” says Anne Cecilie Kristensen, leader of Norgesdemokratene, in a press release.
She believes that Western countries must learn from the experiences of the United States.
“We look forward to hearing his perspectives on how Western countries can address the challenges associated with mass immigration and illegal migration,” says Kristensen.
ReMig26 will be held in Oslo on Saturday 13 June. According to Norgesdemokratene, the conference brings together politicians, thinkers and activists from several European countries to discuss remigration, border control and national sovereignty.
Bovino was also the keynote speaker at the Remigration Summit 2026 outside Porto in Portugal on 30 May. The conference brought together immigration-critical politicians, activists and public commentators from Europe and the United States.
In recent years, the concept of remigration has moved from being a fringe phenomenon to becoming an increasingly open part of the European immigration debate. Supporters describe it as a necessary policy for the return of illegal migrants, criminal foreign nationals and persons without a genuine need for protection.
Critics denounce it as racist.
