The popular German YouTuber “Radical Living”, with a following of more than two million, has published a video in which he honestly and in detail explains why he has decided to leave Germany for good.
In the video published on 8 May entitled “I’m leaving Germany | Brutally Honest Review”, he launches a direct attack on the political narrative that seeks to conceal the decay of society. Within just a few days, the video has surpassed 2.5 million views and attracted attention far beyond Germany’s borders. It describes how everyday life has changed dramatically, especially in larger cities. Women are anxious about walking alone in the evening, shoplifting has become normalised, and the police appear powerless. Concrete examples are cited, such as ordinary goods like shampoo, energy drinks and meat having to be locked away in shops.
– I do not want my children to be afraid of going to school or being outside in the evening
Radical Living states what many dare to think, but few dare to say: Germany is no longer a safe country – especially not for women – an honesty that has been well received by many of his countrywomen.
According to Radical Living, the massive immigration of the past 10–15 years has made German cities and neighbourhoods unsafe and less “German”. He refers to official statistics showing that non-Western immigrants are disproportionately represented particularly in the categories of violence, assault, sexual offences and gang crime.
He describes economic deterioration, high taxes, energy prices and suffocating bureaucracy. He believes that the welfare state is systematically abused – something those who actually work and pay taxes must suffer for, but the video’s strongest message is personal:
– When you have children, you begin to think differently. I do not want my children to grow up in a country where they must be afraid of going to school or of being outside in the evening. Germany is no longer the safe, well-functioning country I grew up in.
Radical Living has lost faith that the politicians can or will reverse the development.
– The system refuses to tolerate real opposition and has in practice ceased to be a democracy. AfD, the largest opposition party, is met with a “democratic firewall” and attempts at prohibition.
– You say it as it is
The video has generated thousands of supportive comments from ordinary Germans, who credit him for “saying it as it is”. Certain media outlets accuse him of spreading hatred, being populist and contributing to far-right rhetoric.
Radical Living has not disclosed publicly where he plans to move, but mentions countries with low crime, a strong economy and a high quality of life – among them Japan.
