Reports of knife attacks triggered a major police operation at Hellerud VGS in Oslo. The police are looking for one suspect, according to NRK.

Hellerud upper secondary school is located at Tveita in Oslo. The emergency services went to the school on Tuesday afternoon after they received reports that a person had tried to attack people at the school.

No one is said to have been injured.

There are supposed to be two men who are said to have been pursued across the school grounds, say the police.

The police understand there is an underlying conflict, says Eirik Sannes, head of operations in the Oslo police, to NRK.

It must have started with an argument/fight which escalated when the suspect pulled out a knife.

The police have not caught the suspect, according to Sannes. The incident is not classified as an ongoing, life-threatening violent incident (plivo).

What we are focusing on now is understanding a picture of the underlying conflict and catch the perpetrator, says Sannes.

Headmaster Arnfinn Stautland says the school’s operations are continuing as usual.

We operate as normal, says Stautland.
