The Iranian-Norwegian romance thus ends in a breakup. Former fisheries minister and long-time parliamentary representative Per Sandberg (63) and Norwegian-Iranian Bahareh Letnes (33) have broken up.

This is reported by TV 2.

We wish to announce that the relationship between us is over. We have come to the point where our future path choices are different. The breach is undramatic, and we do not comment beyond this announcement, writes Per Sandberg in a statement to TV 2.

Letnes is a former asylum seeker, but still pretends to have connections to the Iranian authorities. The radar couple went on holiday to Iran in 2018, which caused a scandal, when Sandberg received criticism for taking the service phone on a private trip.

Nor had he notified the Prime Minister’s office about the trip. Sandberg resigned as deputy leader of FrP, and stepped down as minister, then there was a focus on bars, hotels and reality television. Without much success.

In March this year, the TV series “Per & Baharehs Grand Hotel” premiered on TV 2 Play and TV 2 Zebra. In the series, the audience saw how it goes when the couple take over the Grand Hotel in the centre of Halden, and together have to be responsible for running both the hotel and the bar. The series ended on March 29. (NTB)

The project did not survive a month.
