The United Kingdom has not been invaded. The country is committing suicide, argues the British political scientist Matt Goodwin.
On Wednesday 3 June at 20:00, Document will publish its interview with Goodwin, who is currently in the spotlight with the Norwegian edition of the bestseller Suicide of a Nation, published by Document Forlag.

Goodwin has spent more than 20 years in British academia. He is now delivering a devastating reckoning with the very elite of which he himself was once a part.
His central argument is brutal: the United Kingdom is not being destroyed primarily by external enemies, but by politicians, academics, and institutions that have abandoned their own people, their own history, and their own national culture.
‘The politicians lied,’ says Goodwin in the interview.
He points to how both conservative and left-wing leaders in the United Kingdom have promised to reduce immigration, but in practice have opened the borders and continued the liberal consensus.
In the interview, Goodwin discusses mass immigration, Islam, multiculturalism, freedom of expression, academia’s shift to the left, and the rise of Reform UK, and whether the new party has what it takes to save the country.
He also issues a warning to Norway and the rest of Scandinavia.
Goodwin believes that the developments seen in the United Kingdom are already visible in Sweden, Denmark, and Norway: a weakened national identity, a growing distance between the people and the elite, and a public debate in which many do not dare to say aloud what they actually see around them.
