Director Uwe Boll’s latest work, «Citizen Vigilante», has now been made available for free viewing on X for a limited period.
Action thriller, which was discussed in an article by Document yesterday, has attracted attention, particularly in Germany. There, the authorities have refused to assign it an age classification, which in practice has resulted in it being prohibited from screening in German cinemas. The refusal is justified by the connection between migration and crime, as well as what is interpreted as a defence of vigilantism.
As part of the launch strategy, the filmmakers have now chosen to publish the entire production free of charge on X. Viewers can therefore form their own opinion.
The film is available for free viewing until Saturday 27 June at 04:00 Norwegian time.
In «Citizen Vigilante», we meet Sanders, played by Armie Hammer, an American businessman living in Europe. Following a personal tragedy and what he perceives to be a failing justice system, he begins hunting down criminals who have escaped punishment. His actions make him a widely discussed figure on social media, while Interpol investigator Henry (Costas Mandylor) attempts to stop him.
The film had its general release in the United States on 19 June, while in Europe its release has been obstructed by censorship.
Since X has imposed an age restriction on the post, it is not possible to display the video directly in this article. To watch it on X, one must have a user account and be logged in.
If you do not have a user account on X, you can nevertheless use the XCancel service. This is a website that mirrors content from X without restrictions.
