The largest hospital in the United States is ending gender transition procedures for children and will offer reversal treatment for this category of gender transition. Chemical treatment is being discontinued, the hospital will pay a 10 million dollar fine, and five doctors who have acted as activists are being dismissed.
Texas Children’s Hospital (TCH) in Houston has agreed to stop administering puberty blockers to children, pay 10 million dollars in fines, and open a “detransition clinic” following an extensive investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and the state of Texas.
The agreement concludes a years-long investigation by Texas’ Healthcare Program Enforcement Division, which determined that TCH had fraudulently billed Texas Medicaid for “unacceptable and unlawful ‘gender transition’ interventions”, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton wrote in a statement on Friday.
“Under the terms of this groundbreaking agreement, Texas Children’s will establish the very first multidisciplinary clinic designed to provide medical care to patients who have undergone ‘gender transition procedures’,” Paxton wrote.
“This detransition clinic will help patients reverse the harm caused by ideologically motivated doctors who have injured patients by performing dangerous medical interventions with the purpose of making them ‘change gender’,” Paxton continued in his statement.
Gender transition has been a major issue for liberals in Western countries, and particularly for the Democrats. It is a major flagship issue that is now in retreat. It began with the law prohibiting trans-identifying men from competing in women’s sports.
All services provided through the detransition clinic will be funded by Texas Children’s and will be free of charge to patients during the first five years the clinic is in operation, according to Paxton.
He also revealed that the settlement required TCH to dismiss five “woke” doctors who performed gender reassignment operations on children.
“Today is a monumental day in the fight to stop the radical trans movement. This historic settlement reflects an institutional and fundamental cultural shift away from radical ‘gender’ ideology. In addition to helping establish the very first detransition clinic and securing millions, this settlement will ensure that the disturbed child abusers who are harming our children are dismissed and held accountable,” Paxton added in his statement.
One advocate for trans ideology, Caraballa, scoffed at the decision by Texas Children’s Hospital, but a well-known “detransitioner”, Chloe, praised it.
Chloe Cole, who has reverted to her original sex, however praised the decision in a social media post. “What an incredible moment for the movement fighting to end the mutilation of children. Texas will become home to the first clinic helping the victims of these barbaric interventions return to a normal life,” Cole wrote on X.
