Three brothers in their twenties have been arrested for the bomb directed at the United States Embassy on the night of Sunday. This was stated by police prosecutor Christian Hatlo at a press conference. It is a major victory for the police that they are making arrests so quickly.

All three are Norwegian citizens with origins in Iraq. They are not previously known to the police.

– We regard this as a breakthrough.

Hatlo said that much remains open: Was someone behind the three? Was it commissioned?

It was during the night of Sunday, at approximately 0100 hours, that there was an explosion at the United States Embassy in Oslo.

– A number of seizures have been made, but I cannot go into them. However, it is a combined evidentiary picture that we have obtained over the course of nearly three days which has led us to make these arrests, Hatlo says to NTB.
