Democrats reacted strongly when it emerged that President Donald Trump was appointing Stephen Miller as White House Chief of Staff.
There have already been threats to subject Miller to lawfare, writes Breitbart News.
Representative Robert Garcia (D) advises Miller to “get a lawyer”.
“Just days after the American people rejected his corrupt and lawless presidency, Donald Trump is doubling down,” Garcia said. “Stephen Miller is the architect of the unconstitutional ICE raids that have terrorized our communities and kidnapped and killed American citizens and immigrant families.”
“Oversight Democrats will continue to investigate Miller for his misconduct, and we will fight against his hateful policies in Congress and the courts,” Garcia continued. “Stephen Miller should lawyer up.”
Nor is the Governor of California, Gavin Newsom (D), holding back. He clearly misses the open borders under President Joe Biden, and believes that the appointment is an insult to all Americans who voted for change on Tuesday. In other words, he is using Obama’s old slogan.
“Donald Trump has just promoted one of the most despicable thugs ever to have sneaked into the Oval Office. This is an insult to all Americans who voted for change on Tuesday. Stephen Miller was the architect behind the sadistic mass deportation regime that tore families apart and trampled on fundamental civil rights.”
Newsom does not seem to understand that illegal migrants do not actually have any civil rights in a country of which they are not citizens, and to which they have entered illegally.
Donald Trump just promoted one of the most vile thugs to ever slither into the Oval Office.
This is an insult to every American who voted for change on Tuesday.
Stephen Miller cooked up the sadistic mass deportation regime that ripped apart families and trampled basic civil rights. Innocent people are dead because of him.

Democrat Ro Khanna says in a video on X:
Stephen Miller is the architect of Trump’s rogue immigration policy. Appointing him Chief of Staff is an act of vengeance against the millions of Latinos who came out to call for abolishing ICE. Mo matter what position Miller holds, House Democrats will hold him accountable.
And so it goes on, with statements from several Democrats. Pramila Jayapal believes that Miller’s appointment “is a massive slap in the face to every single voter who turned up at the polling stations and demanded a change from the corruption and cruelty of the past two years”.
LaMonica McIver calls Miller a white supremacist (supporter of white supremacy). Ruben Gallego believes Miller “is the mastermind behind the most derelict immigration policy we have seen in generations – a policy that the American people have just rejected in the strongest possible terms”.
Chuck Schumer writes:
Donald Trump learned nothing from his historic defeat. Stephen Miller is the architect of the most barbaric, inhumane policies of this administration. Trump couldn’t have made a worse choice. Our Democratic majorities will fight him every step of the way.
Stephen Miller is unlikely to have an easy job, given that the Democrats hold a majority in both houses.
President Trump, too, faces major challenges now that he no longer has Congress on his side. We live in interesting times.
