It is like watching the Titanic sink.
This happened just hours after the university had announced that it had launched an investigation into him on the basis of new information about his “academic qualifications and honorary positions”, which The Telegraph recently revealed.

The professor of sociology of education was accused of plagiarism in his doctoral dissertation, in which he copied information from another student’s dissertation.
Earlier on Wednesday, the newspaper also revealed that Professor Arday had repeatedly claimed to be the author of a book entitled Being Young, Black and Male: Challenging the Dominant Discourse. But there is no evidence that any such book was written or published.
The newspaper wrote:
Jesus College says that it is “a very difficult time for him and his family”.
Professor Arday himself said when announcing his resignation:
This decision should not be interpreted as a loss of faith in academic endeavour or in the values that originally brought me to Cambridge. Nor should it be mistaken for an acceptance of the narratives that have surrounded me. It is simply the decision of a person who has reached the limits of what a human being can reasonably be expected to endure.”
This seems rather familiar: After being exposed as an apparent fraud, Arday asks that empathy be directed towards him.
Arday has also claimed that he has been a visiting professor at the University of Glasgow, Ohio State University in the US and Nelson Mandela University in South Africa, something all the universities named deny.
Cambridge previously stated that Professor Arday was the victim of a “vile campaign to undermine his credibility”, but was met with an outcry among staff because the university refused to review his academic qualifications again.
Arday is in many ways a symbol of the West’s elites and their falsification of reality.
But although Arday hit the wall, the elites are still sitting safely on the Titanic’s bridge, in an eternal search for the iceberg that can sink us.
