First stage of Lebanon-Israel agreement in place
Lebanon and Israel have, through U.S. mediation, reached the first stage of a peace agreement between the two countries. The Lebanese Armed Forces are to disarm Hezbollah, and Israel will fulfil its part of the agreement only once that has happened. If they succeed, it will mark the end of Hezbollah’s role as a non-state power broker in Lebanon. Iran will lose its most important strategic asset.

The productive are taxed ever harder to finance immigration
Persistent immigration, the large numbers outside the labour market, and the extensive use of social welfare benefits in Norway together represent an annual socio-economic loss of value of NOK 700–800 billion. They cost taxpayers enormous sums. The Tax Commission’s proposals barely scratch the surface of this problem. Redistribution policies win votes, but they are not sustainable.
Sweden investigates alleged gang takeover of Social Democratic stronghold
First, the Social Democrats denied the problem. Then they cleared themselves. Now the government is stepping in and allowing former Security Service chief Klas Friberg to investigate the Botkyrka scandal, which an increasing number of people describe as one of the clearest examples of gang-criminal infiltration of Swedish politics.
