South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham has died at the age of 71. His death came suddenly, and the news of his passing was announced by a spokesman for his office. Graham was one of Washington’s most influential politicians.
He distinguished himself as a strong supporter of Ukraine and was fully aligned with Biden in that support. He worked alongside Zelensky to pressure Trump to maintain it.
On other issues, however, such as immigration, Lindsey was an important supporter of Trump.
Lindsey was an establishment politician. He operated in a world of donors and was closely aligned with Corporate America. He had no desire to confront the flow of money in and out of Capitol Hill.
But he was so powerful that Trump had no choice but to deal with him.
Graham delivered several outstanding performances during Senate hearings. When Brett Kavanaugh was nominated to the Supreme Court, the Democrats orchestrated a personal witch-hunt. Graham dismantled them.
Graham was a member of the House of Representatives from 2003 and became a senator in 2015.
