Norwegian media treat the funeral of Ali Khamenei, the leader of Iran’s death cult, with more respect than the funeral of the Republican senator Lindsey Graham. Even in death they cannot take a break from the Trump-baiting.

Such a headline and such praise of our President one would never have seen in Norwegian media. Probably not in the most liberal media in the USA either. We can live with that, for we have known their agenda for more than eleven years.
But when the funeral of a respected and by many deeply loved senator is turned into a clickbait-style juvenile story with Trump-baiting in nationwide media on the other side of the Atlantic, then one begins to wonder what kind of thought process is going on in the media houses and in the heads of the journalists around the country.
Even worse is when the funeral of authoritarian leaders who kill their own people is met with far greater respect. Like VG’s coverage of Khamenei. Respectful, even for a man who led a death cult.
When one sees the careful and respectful choice of pictures and headlines for Khamenei’s funeral, compared with the coverage of Senator Lindsey Graham’s, the Norwegian coverage becomes even more shameful
This is only a selection of media; there is neither time nor desire to check more. The stories have lain clearly visible on the front page for large parts of the day. The desire to ridicule the American President stands at the top of the agenda for Norwegian journalists.
One may wonder whether this is driven by the same hatred and the same evil that Marco Rubio described in connection with the radical left.
In VG journalist Mathilde Nordskog Sigurdsen tells that Trump is tired after having worked so hard at destroying the country. She refers to a comment on TikTok after Trump allegedly appeared to fall asleep during the senator’s funeral.
TikTok. Yes, that is the level Norwegian media place themselves on when they cover Trump’s America. – Now the internet is boiling after the clip has spread, says Sigurdsen.
Then a clip is shown in which Trump shares a Tic Tac with Vice President J.D. Vance. This too is said to have created reactions, she relates, because a user on TikTok asks why they are giggling when they are at a funeral.
Reporter Tiril Hagen Andersen in TV 2 asks whether Trump is sleeping. The internet is boiling, she relates. An X-user wrote that the irony is palpable, as Trump sleeps ten times as often as Biden. Andersen reminds us that this is not the first time the President has slept during an event.
I find no other coverage of the senator’s funeral in these three newspapers. This is once again a distorted and unethical coverage of Trump’s America, something that only contributes to nourishing contempt and the growing anti-Americanism.
The whole thing is like a gigantic TikTok account for adults. Clickbait, vulgar entertainment and Trump-baiting disguised as news.
He died while performing the work he was created for
Trump was at his absolute finest when he delivered the eulogy for Lindsey Graham. We look more closely at some of the moments, as they are rendered by Breitbart News and Rapid Response 47 on X.

But even though Lindsey’s life was cut short while he was still so full of vitality, there can be no doubt that he lived it to the full. He died while performing the work he was born to do, in the service of the country he loved so deeply.
He passed away at the peak of his career and in his best form, as a legend that each and every one of us was blessed to know, and a friend that none of us will ever forget. There truly was no one like Lindsey Graham.
Learned the art of politics in the family’s pool hall
Trump said that Graham learned the art of politics in the family’s pool hall, where his father taught him to find the balance between being funny enough that the guests come back, but at the same time tough enough that the business can flourish.

It was in his hometown of Central in South Carolina that Lindsey first learned the art of politics. His parents ran a bar and pool hall on Main Street, with a room at the back where the family slept.
As Lindsey said, his father taught him: “The key to being a successful bar owner is that you have to be funny enough that people come back, and that you have to be tough enough that you can keep the business going and flourishing.”
Throughout his legendary career that was exactly how Lindsey Graham was. He was the first to make you laugh, and one of the last you would ever fight against. It was these qualities that made him one of the great figures in the history of the Senate.
He was most proud of his sister, Darline
When Lindsey was only 20 years old he lost his mother to cancer. 15 months later he lost his father, said Trump.
Their passing left his 13-year-old sister, Darline, an orphan, but thanks to God’s grace she had her wonderful brother to take care of her.

On top of it all Lindsey became her guardian while he was still at college, and helped to raise her. He later said that of all his achievements, and he had many, what he was most proud of in life was how splendid Darline had become.
Nothing could have been more fitting than that this woman, who was Lindsey’s greatest pride, now takes over his legacy of service in the United States Senate. And I have no doubt that today he is looking down from heaven and beaming with pride over his sister, Senator Darline Graham.
The Kavanaugh speech was his greatest moment

In 2002 he ran for the Senate in an election that ought to have ended in defeat, but he secured a convincing victory. Lindsey quickly became a master at manoeuvring in one of the world’s greatest legislative bodies. He secured record-high appropriations for defence, and as chairman of the Budget Committee he ensured the largest investment in border security in history.
Last year he led the work of getting the largest tax cuts in American history passed. And of course he was also a great champion of the US Supreme Court. His passionate defence of Justice Kavanaugh put a stop to a shameful attack on this very good man, and gave us one of the greatest moments the Senate has ever witnessed.
I believe it was perhaps Lindsey’s finest moment.
Graham’s great influence in the world
Even though he was always quick to laugh, and no one ever doubted the gravity of his mission, Lindsey Graham believed above all in a strong America, said Trump.

He had an unwavering faith that American power was righteous. He felt in his bones that our destiny is to win, and that his task was to do everything he could to ensure that our enemies should lose.
It was this conviction that led him to serve for 33 years in uniform in the Air Force, and it was this conviction that took him as a senator to almost every country on earth, where he confronted America’s adversaries and stood up for America’s friends.
It is a testament to his enormous influence that among those mourning him here today are leaders, presidents and prime ministers from all over the world.
Humour in the encounter with Gaddafi and the Dalai Lama
The President told two amusing stories about encounters between Graham and the late Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi and the Dalai Lama.
When he met the Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi in a tent in the desert, he said to him: “I expected something in the style of One Thousand and One Nights. This looks more like a Winnebago.” That was not a smart thing to say at the time.
And when he met the Dalai Lama, Lindsey looked him straight in the eyes and said: “So, can you really levitate?” The Dalai Lama was not pleased with that, said Trump.
We did not exactly get the best of starts
The President also spoke about the beginning of the relationship between him and Graham more than a decade ago, during the Republican nomination for presidential candidate in the primaries in 2016, and noted that they did not exactly get the best of starts.

When we were competing against each other back in 2016, Lindsey said something nasty, so of course I shared his private mobile number with the millions of people who happened to be watching. But it was Lindsey who had the last laugh, for even though I flooded his phone with calls in one day, we became friends, and Lindsey did not stop calling me for the next ten years.

During the hearing of the Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, Senator Lindsey Graham criticised the hearing as an “unethical farce” and accused the Democrats of exploiting the occasion for political purposes.
This was Lindsey Graham’s greatest moment, according to Trump and many others. – If you are looking for a fair process, you have come to the wrong town at the wrong time. This is a hell.
