Up to 600 communist groups and other radical organisations are mobilising across the United States to demonstrate on 1 May.
Most of the actors have links to the Democrats, and the action received, in a way, funding from an investor based in Shanghai, who appears to support the propaganda of the Chinese Communist Party.
Several chapters of Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) – which is absolutely not a social-democratic organisation; they are far more left-extreme − allegedly led up to 3,000 demonstrations on what was once workers’ day.
DSA is funded by the China-based magnate Neville Roy Singham, and they led the network together with groups from the Democrats, including the California Democratic Party, writes Fox News.
Well-known radical representatives of the Democrats, such as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and New York’s mayor Zohran Mamdani, have declared themselves Democratic Socialists.
The demonstrators are urging Americans to stay away from work, school and shops.
At the centre of the 1 May mobilisation, which has grown beyond what was previously suggested, stands a network of communist, socialist, Marxist and other far-left organisations.
Everything is led by local chapters of Democratic Socialists of America and a network of groups – including People’s Forum, Party for Socialism and Liberation, ANSWER Coalition and Code Pink – funded by an American-born technology magnate, Neville Roy Singham, based in Shanghai, who promotes the propaganda of the Chinese Communist Party.
The Communist Party USA has mobilised workers to “rise up against MAGA on 1 May”, and promotes brochures from “People’s World”, its Marxist-Leninist publication.
The Revolutionary Communist Party has issued a call to abolish the “capitalist-imperialist system”. The Maoist Communist Union has urged members to join the “Anti-Imperialist Contingent” during the protests in New York City.
The Democrats in the United States are tying themselves ever more closely to radical groups, something that is clearly evident on workers’ day. According to Fox News, such demonstrations are planned in a number of cities, including the capital, Chicago and Indio in California.
Melissa DeRosa is a strategist for the Democrats, and tells Fox News that the Democratic Party’s participation in the 1 May commemoration together with radical groups is at its own risk.
“The growing willingness among ordinary Democrats to associate with extremist socialist groups is a major reason why the Democratic Party is increasingly losing the centre, and why so many lifelong Democrats feel politically homeless.
1 May has a proud tradition of honouring workers, but far too many Democratic organisations have allowed this tradition to be captured by an activist fringe – including groups affiliated with Democratic Socialists of America – which promotes an unrealistic agenda that has failed everywhere it has been tried.”
There are midterm elections in November, and Western media unanimously predict that the Democrats will take power from the Republicans, at least in the Senate, but they also expect victory in the House of Representatives.
This midterm election once again stands out as a fateful election in the United States. What happens next in the Iran war may have a major impact on the result.
The President of the United States, Donald Trump, and his party still have time. But the war should probably be concluded no later than early autumn if the election in November is to result in the Republicans continuing to retain control over American politics.
