A 15-year-old girl in Sweden is suspected of two murders two days apart. The police believe the case concerns contract killings.
Monday, a teenage boy was shot and killed in Vårby. Two days later, more than 600 kilometres away, another teenage boy was killed in Rosengård in Malmö.
The same 15-year-old girl is suspected of both murders, according to information from Sydsvenskan and Expressen. In the Rosengård killing, a 15-year-old boy has also been arrested.
15 år gammel gutt skutt og drept i Malmö – to 15-åringer pågrepet
Two individuals, a boy and a girl aged 15, are being held in custody, suspected of the fatal shooting in Rosengård on Wednesday evening. Both were apprehended shortly after the shooting itself, in which a boy in his mid-teens died.
The suspected girl is now also believed to be involved in the killing in Vårby gård outside Stockholm, where another teenage boy was shot and killed at a sports ground on Monday.
Related to gang member
According to Sydsvenskan, the teenage girl was already wanted for the murder in Stockholm, but managed to commit the murder in Malmö before the police apprehended her.
Neither of the two arrested individuals comes from Malmö. The newspaper considers this to be a contract killing linked to a settlement between criminal gangs. The murdered boy is related to a man in Malmö’s criminal network who has a bounty on his head, and the killing is to be seen as a signal to him, the police suspect.
The murdered 15-year-old himself has not previously been involved in criminal contexts, the police inform SVT Skåne.
Expressen has attempted to contact prosecutor Anna Asklöf.
