Trøndelag district court has remanded a 30-year-old Norwegian who is suspected of the fatal hit-and-run in Steinkjer, for two weeks with isolation and a ban on letters and visits.
The prosecution had requested four weeks’ custody of the 30-year-old, who has been charged with negligent homicide and has pleaded guilty, but the court believed that two weeks was enough to avoid the risk of tampering with evidence.
Following a petition from Adresseavisen, the court lifted a ban on minutes that initially applied under Section 129 of the Courts Act.
The victim was named as 21-year-old Sigve Bremset who was killed during the collision, according to VG.
