Norway face France in their final World Cup Group I match today, with both nations already qualified for the knockout stage.
The match is played at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, outside Boston, and kicks off at 21.00 Norwegian time. VG lists the game on NRK1.
France need only a draw to finish top of the group because of their superior goal difference, while Norway must win to take first place. Reuters
Norway opened the tournament with a 4–1 win over Iraq before beating Senegal 3–2. Erling Braut Haaland has scored four goals in Norway’s first two matches, helping Ståle Solbakken’s side secure early qualification for the Round of 32.
Solbakken has signalled that Norway will manage the squad before the knockout round. He said the tournament is becoming “a pressure cooker” and stressed that Norway must be “smart” with the physical demands ahead.
France may also rotate players. Head coach Didier Deschamps will miss the match after travelling home following the death of his mother, with assistant Guy Stéphan leading the team from the touchline.
The result will decide the Group I winner, even though both teams are already through.
Norway’s Round of 32 match will be played on June 30.
