Oslo Police have halted the Diesel Roar (Dieselbrølet) at Lierskogen on Friday morning. Only a small group is permitted to continue onwards towards the capital.
NTB:
Diesel activists on their way towards Oslo have been stopped by the police at Lierskogen. Only a small group is allowed to continue towards the capital, the police state.
– The reason we are stopping them is that no application has been made for a demonstration in the Oslo police district, says operations manager Sverre Lien to NTB.
– They will be allowed to express themselves, but we must ensure that the emergency services can get through and that it does not affect life and health, he says.
The activists have been given certain guidelines for how they may proceed towards Oslo.
– It is a smaller group that is allowed to drive into the city centre, says Lien.
What the lorry owners have requested is, first and foremost, predictability. At the time of writing, diesel prices at the pump are around 24 kroner. They are requesting “clear diesel” (blank diesel) at 20 kroner per litre or less, and that “duty-free” (avgiftsfri) diesel be reduced to 15 kroner per litre.

Jan-Erik Rafoss, one of the initiators behind Diesel Roar (Dieselbrølet), broadcasts live on Facebook during the drive.
Jan-Erik Rafoss, who is one of the initiators, is livestreaming directly to the Diesel Roar group (Dieselbrølet-gruppen) on Facebook.
The group has over 40,000 members.
– There are people sitting in the Storting who do not know that construction diesel is now more expensive than ordinary diesel. What kind of bubble are they living in? asks one of the leaders of Diesel Roar on the livestream.
