Democrats in the United States are reacting to Trump’s threats against Iran and are using strong language. The EU and the UN are following suit, and appear to be choosing the side of the ayatollah dictatorship.
US President Trump has threatened massive destruction of power plants and bridges in Iran if the Strait of Hormuz is not opened by a deadline set for Tuesday. At the same time, he expressed confidence that an agreement could still be reached beforehand, writes Die Welt.
Chuck Schumer, the Democratic leader in the US Senate, writes on X:
“Happy Easter, America. As you head off to church and celebrate with friends and family, the President of the United States is ranting like an unhinged madman on social media.
He’s threatening possible war crimes and alienating allies.
This is who he is, but this is not who we are. Our country deserves so much better.”

The socialist Bernie Sanders also called Trump “dangerous and mentally unstable” and wrote on X:
“One month after the war in Iran was initiated, this statement comes from the President of the United States on Easter Sunday.
This is drivel from a dangerous and mentally unstable person. Congress must act NOW. End this war.”
Senator Chris Murphy (D), who in March 2025 followed the Democrats’ long-running Russia Collusion trend, claims that Trump was “an arm of the Kremlin”. He too describes Trump’s actions as “completely insane”.
“If I were in Trump’s Cabinet, I would spend Easter contacting constitutional lawyers about the 25th Amendment. This is completely, absolutely insane. He has already killed thousands. He will kill thousands more.”
The 25th Amendment to the United States Constitution governs what happens when a US president dies, resigns, or becomes incapacitated. Murphy is no doubt dreaming of the last option.

European media embrace RINOs
WELT also mentions Marjorie Taylor Greene (R), the former Trump supporter who has now turned completely around and is therefore suddenly being praised by the same TDS media that previously despised her, since she has been transformed into a RINO (Republican in Name Only). She also writes on X:
“I know you all and him, and he has gone mad, and you are all complicit. I am not defending Iran, but let us be honest about all of this. Trump’s threat to bomb power plants and bridges harms the Iranian people—precisely the people Trump claimed he wanted to liberate.
They are more than capable of defending themselves without the US having to fight their wars, kill innocent people and children, and pay for it.
Has Taylor Greene already forgotten that civilian Iranians who demonstrated against the oppressive regime and the economic crisis were unable to defend themselves against their own authorities, which led to as many as 40,000 of them being killed approximately two months ago?
Ben Rhodes, who served as Deputy National Security Adviser under President Barack Hussein Obama, regards US President Donald Trump’s threats against Iran as signs of a unilateral political move.
“We will find out whether the US military is willing to say ‘no’ to Trump,” Rhodes told the BBC.
Rhodes is thus calling for mutiny, which remains, in theory, punishable by death in the United States. He believes that Trump is threatening war crimes and is not following “the normal process”. It is uncertain whether he means the process followed by Obama, who released enormous sums to the regime in Iran on condition that it postpone the development of nuclear weapons for a few years.
Naturally, Rhodes believes that the solution is “dialogue” at the negotiating table. He has evidently not read the Qur’an and the hadiths, which explain how little agreements mean to Muslims.
Muslims are trained to enter into agreements when necessary, and then to use the period of peace to build up sufficient strength to continue the struggle to achieve Islam’s objective, which is to bring the whole world into submission. Islam in fact means submission or surrender, not peace.
This may not be elementary knowledge, but it ought to be well known to people who actually hold or have held important positions in the world’s most powerful nation.
The EU and the UN follow suit. The President of the European Council, the socialist Portuguese António Costa, has stated that attacks on civilian infrastructure are unlawful. He fantasises about a diplomatic solution, naturally by means of “dialogue”.
“After five weeks of war in the Middle East, it is clear that only a diplomatic solution can eliminate the underlying causes.”
UN Secretary-General António Guterres, yet another socialist, believes that it is high time for the United States and Israel to stop this war. That the regime in Tehran has for years been the world’s greatest source of financing for terrorism, that he appears to overlook or ignore.
Guterres’s solution is, unsurprisingly: dialogue. He believes that this is the way to end conflicts.
– They end when leaders choose dialogue over destruction. That choice still exists. And it must be made – now.
One wonders from which history books these politicians derive their theories.
