Minors broke into a sports hall in Älvsjö and shot a 25-year-old woman, who was seriously injured. The police describe them as “men in their late teens”. This is the new term for boys under the age of 18.
The hall consists of two sections, and a match was being played in one of them. However, there were also people in the other section, and they witnessed the attempted murder.
“The crime took place in the hall where there weren’t as many people,” says Mats Eriksson.
– But there are witnesses, and we’re looking for accounts not only of the incident itself, but also of what happened before and after. There are a number of witnesses who have seen things we’re interested in finding out about.
Aftonbladet reported at around 9 o’clock that those arrested were minors.
The police are now describing them as ‘men in their late teens’, according to the TT news agency.
The two are believed to be residents of Gothenburg and are both suspected of attempted murder.
The report of the shooting came in at around 9 pm on Friday. The woman was initially helped by bystanders before the ambulance and police arrived.
She had sustained what the police describe as very serious injuries and has been admitted to hospital.
The police also stated that a suspect fled the scene.
– There are no suspects at present, but several people have been taken in for questioning, the police in Stockholm stated early on Saturday morning.
The hall is located next to a school in the Solberga area of Älvsjö, in the south of the Swedish capital.
The shooting took place inside a room in a sports centre where a football match was being played, but not in the same hall as the football match itself.
The police are investigating the case as attempted murder. (NTB)
