The Italian writer and former communist Ignazio Silone said this in 1944: “When fascism returns, it will call itself anti-fascism.” Other well-known figures are said to have said something similar.
LO is, to put it mildly, hysterical when it calls itself anti-fascist while throwing Nazi labels around at perfectly ordinary people.
The trade unions had an absolutely central, but compulsory, role in fascism, particularly through the development of the corporatist state in Mussolini’s Italy.
The relationship between fascism and the trade unions can be divided into two phases: first, the complete crushing of the independent labour movement, followed by the establishment of state-controlled “fascist syndicates” that functioned as tools for the regime’s economic and social control.

The rule of thumb is that fascism, socialism and Marxism are all collectivist ideologies, all of which are totalitarian.
Totalitarianism means, in addition to public control being total, that through one-sided propaganda (massive state media subsidies and demands to withdraw support from free media) – and the cancellation of healthy debate – the people are made to keep one another in line through informing and self-censorship.
In 2026, totalitarianism is best described as wokeism. If you are not woke (neo-fascist) – you are to lose your career and your job. Full stop.
