Four men have been convicted by Oslo District Court of holding a man captive in a flat in Sinsen for five days in the autumn of 2024.
They tied him to a mattress and beat, kicked and whipped him with a cable.
“The whipping appears to be sadistic violence carried out to inflict pain,” the court writes in its judgement, according to Avisa Oslo.
The men, aged 22, 29, 30 and 37, were sentenced to between three years and three years and eight months’ imprisonment for aiding and abetting aggravated unlawful detention, aggravated robbery and causing grievous bodily harm. A 33-year-old man who was also charged did not appear in court. The case against him has been adjourned.
The victim was lured to a car park on 29 September and forced into a car. Five days later, he managed to free himself using a fork he had hidden, and jumped out of a window 3.5 metres above the ground. He broke his tailbone. The perpetrators claimed that he owed them money for drugs, but the court found this unproven.
The nationality or background of those convicted is not known.
