State broadcaster NRK reports that King Haakon VIII will retain the motto “All for Norway”, the same as that of his father, King Harald V, his grandfather, King Olav V, and his great-grandfather, King Haakon VII.

In doing so, the new King signals a historical continuity that perhaps could not have been taken for granted.
