A man stabbed three women in northern Paris on Monday morning while shouting that he had been commanded by Allah. According to the New York Post, one of the women was pregnant.
The attack took place at Porte de Clichy, near the Paris courthouse. A video shared on social media shows a man with long, dark hair wearing a tracksuit and walking along the pavement with two large knives in his hands.
A passer-by can be heard shouting warnings and telling people to keep their distance.

The man attacked three women aged 19, 24 and 36 before several passers-by intervened and managed to overpower him.
Interior Minister Laurent Nunez told journalists that two of the women were seriously injured, but that both are expected to survive.
Another video shows the attacker lying on the ground surrounded by bystanders, while the knives lie scattered nearby. While lying on the ground, he is said to have declared: “It was Allah who commanded me.”

The motive for the attack has not yet been established. Police have not disclosed the man’s identity, and his statements during the arrest have been described as “incoherent”.
French counter-terrorism authorities are considering whether the attack should be investigated as terrorism.
Police remained at Porte de Clichy on Monday following the knife attack.
