Monica Esposito (b. ca. 1971 – 22 July 2026) was a 55-year-old woman from Nonantola (in the province of Modena, Italy).
She was one of the victims of the car attack that took place on 16 May 2026 in the centre of Modena (via Emilia Centro / largo Porta Bologna). Salim El Koudri drove a car into a group of pedestrians and injured eight people. Monica was out walking with her husband, Angelo Ciccarelli, when she was hit; she was among the most severely injured (the car pressed her against a wall). She sustained catastrophic injuries, including the loss of both legs, and never regained consciousness.
She was first treated in critical condition at Ospedale Maggiore in Bologna, then transferred to the intensive care unit at Ospedale Civile di Baggiovara (Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria di Modena). Despite several operations and prolonged intensive treatment she died on the morning of 22 July 2026.
Her death made her the first fatality in the attack. Local authorities (including the mayors of Modena and Nonantola) declared a day of mourning in connection with her funeral, and politicians across the parties expressed their condolences. In reports it was also mentioned that the family respected her wish to donate her organs. (Grok)

The Italian authorities have announced that yesterday’s car-ramming attack in Modena by Salim El Koudri was not a case of terrorism but due to “mental health issues”

It has subsequently emerged that El Koudri hated the culture he benefited from.
In 2021 he demanded to be employed at the university and wrote in that connection:
«You must employ me as an employee. Fucking Christian bastards.
You and your Jesus Christ on the cross – I will burn it up»
Salim El Koudri, the terrorist who committed an atrocity in Modena had sent a job application in 2021 to the university he had graduated in Business Economics from:

It is not long since a Moroccan died during an arrest in Bologna. The left immediately whipped up a hysteria. This has little to do with genuine indignation. It is a spectacle.
Parts of Italy are infiltrated.
After more than two months of suffering in hospital Monica has today passed away. She is the first victim of what quite clearly appears to be an Islamist attack.
Yet there has been no official mourning for her: no memorial service called by the mayor, no funeral procession, no public demonstration, no attention from the media.
Only a deafening silence that has lasted for two whole months, while she fought between life and death.
No newspaper, no commentator, no politician has spoken about the attack and the many injured. Will they remain silent even in the face of death?
As if this victim were more inconvenient than the others. As if her death weighed less.
Monica was not merely a statistical piece of information, but a human being with a life, loved ones and plans that were abruptly interrupted by murderous terrorism.
She passed away in general silence.
Rest in peace, Monica.
We will not forget you.
Truth and justice for Monica.Below you see Massimo «mini Lepore» Mezzetti together with Wael Al-Dahdouh, a Hamas journalist, and Stefania Ascari, a representative of the Five Star Movement with links to Hannoun, who is under investigation for terrorism.
No tears for an Italian, but full mobilisation for a Moroccan who dies. That is the message the Italians are left with. How long will it hold?
