Even Vinsjevik Ervik was found dead on a motorway in Spain, without clothes, money or belongings. He disappeared just 70 metres from the petrol station where Nikoline Piwoni Høie was seen before she was found dead on the same motorway.
Even’s family have never accepted the Spanish police’s explanation that their son died in an accident.
The 20-year-old was struck by a vehicle on a dark stretch of the A-7 motorway near Puerto Banús on 14 October 2021 at around 5 a.m.
No one knows whether he was alive before he was hit by the vehicle.
A couple of hours earlier, he had been at a nightclub with his friends.

Nearly 12 years ago, the Latvian woman Agnese Klavina (30) disappeared after a night out in Puerto Banús.
Like Nikoline Høie, she was seen getting into a car outside a nightclub late at night. What actually happened to Nikoline and Agnese, we do not know.
Agnese was never found.
Spoke with Norwegian girls
When Even’s friends saw the 20-year-old for the last time, he was talking to some Norwegian girls in the street near a nightclub by the famous marina. When his friends came out of the nightclub 20 minutes later, both he and the girls were gone.
Even’s family never received answers to central questions, such as why he was found completely without clothes, who the girls were, and what had happened to his mobile phone.
The Spanish and Norwegian police have closed the case. The Norwegian girls have never come forward, despite the bereaved family having appealed for them through the media.
Norwegian police became involved to investigate mobile phone traces, but found no legal basis on which they could compel the mobile phone company. The Spanish police likewise declined to request access to the phone records.
The reason given was that this would have required suspicion that a criminal offence carrying a minimum sentence of three years had taken place.
In other words, the Spanish police considered there to be no grounds for believing that was the case.
This despite the fact that attempts were made to use Even’s bank card 23 times at different locations on the Costa del Sol after he was dead.
“Something doesn’t add up”
The place where Even was last seen by his friends is only a stone’s throw from the petrol station where Document revealed last week that Nikoline Høie and a dark-haired girl spoke to four men in their mid-twenties in a white passenger car.

Even was found after being struck by a vehicle approximately 800 metres from the petrol station, near the nearest exit from Puerto Banús onto the A-7.
Nikoline Høie was found dead on the same motorway, in the neighbouring municipality.
For Even’s mother, Marianne Vinsjevik, it is difficult to accept that there was supposedly no preceding event leading to her son’s death, and that the police appeared unwilling to investigate what had actually happened.
– Something doesn’t add up, she told VG.
The newspaper was never able to obtain a comment from the Spanish police. The police cited privacy rules.
Document has likewise been unable to obtain comments from any of the parties in Nikoline’s case – neither the Guardia Civil, the emergency services in Fuengirola, who arrived at the scene first, nor Nikoline’s parents and their spokesman.
One question we have sought to have answered is whether the dark-haired girl who was with Nikoline at the petrol station is known to the family.
Was she a friend, or someone she had only just met that night?
Focuses on the collisions
In Even’s case, the police documents describe a witness who was at the scene of the accident but whom the Spanish police were subsequently never able to locate.
Among the documents the family received from the Spanish investigation are details about speed and tyre tread depth, but nothing about what may have brought the 20-year-old, without clothes, to the accident scene.
In Nikoline’s case as well, it appears that the police are more focused on finding the driver who struck her than on what happened in the car that transported her to the place where she was found dead.
Why did it take an hour and a half, or more, from the time the car she was travelling in left Puerto Banús until she was found after being struck in the neighbouring municipality, less than 20 minutes away by car?

The Spanish police’s hypothesis was that Even climbed over the concrete barrier and attempted to cross the motorway in the direction of Marbella.
But there is no obvious reason for crossing the road at that point. There is only scrub and trees on the other side. No footpath or pavement. The area cannot be accessed from the streets behind. There is only wilderness, high fences and crash barriers.
The Occidental Hotel lies behind high fences, and only hotel guests could have reached the motorway from there.
The place where he was struck is, however, particularly dark. According to the newspaper SUR, several previous collisions have occurred there. It was so dark that, according to the police, the surveillance footage does not clearly show the entire sequence of events.
A pair of beige trousers was found nearby. None of his other belongings were recovered.
Thrown through the air
In one of the Guardia Civil leaks concerning Nikoline’s case, the police state that the 17-year-old was dropped off somewhere along the motorway by an Uber driver and was struck immediately after attempting to cross it.
- The driver has given a statement to the police, but nothing further has been made public.
- One man was arrested but released shortly afterwards.
- The driver who struck her remains unidentified.
- The results of the post-mortem examination and other forensic investigations have not been made public.
The Spanish police report concerning Even Vinsjevik Ervik contained no toxicology analyses. Nor was a post-mortem examination carried out; it merely states that a forensic pathologist “looked at” the deceased.
The investigation into Nikoline’s death appears to be heading in the same direction as Even’s case. Her mobile phone has been found, but if the police make the same assessment as they did after Even’s death, there is little chance that either the Guardia Civil or the Norwegian police will request access to the mobile phone data.
If so, the mystery of what happened to Nikoline in the hours before she died may remain unsolved.
Blonde woman from Latvia vanished without a trace
The beautiful Latvian woman Agnese Klavina, with green eyes, was last seen at the Aqwa Mist nightclub on 6 September 2014. She was with an unidentified woman who appeared to be Russian, according to her friends.
According to subsequent court documents, the two women later sat with the extremely wealthy Westley Capper and his right-hand man, Craig Porter, both British. Capper is the son of billionaire John Capper.

Surveillance footage outside the nightclub showed Agnese somewhat reluctantly getting into Capper junior’s Mercedes in the early hours of the morning.
She was never seen again.
Five years after her disappearance, Capper junior and Porter were brought to trial for abduction but were later acquitted. According to the court, there is no evidence that Agnese was murdered, nor that she was abducted.
Instead, the billionaire’s son was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment, and Porter to six months, for the unlawful use of coercion against the 30-year-old woman. A nightclub doorman was acquitted of complicity.
In 2023, a gardener found a skull in the small mountain town of Benahavís, a couple of miles from Marbella. A suitcase containing human remains was discovered on the same property. It turned out to be the dismembered body of a woman aged between 25 and 30. It was speculated that this might be Agnese Klavina.
But earlier this year it became known that there was no match with the DNA profile of any missing person.
The mysteries surrounding the fates of Agnese, Nikoline and Even remain unsolved.
