A boy was abused and humiliated in a school playground in Sweden. Among other things, he was forced to eat dog faeces and bark like a dog. TV4 reports.
Three teenagers have now been convicted of aggravated assault and aggravated unlawful coercion.
At the end of March this year, a boy was subjected to serious violence in a school playground in central Sweden.
According to the indictment, three boys of the same age kicked and punched him, strangled him, and forced him to carry out deeply humiliating acts—including eating dog faeces while they filmed it, the Siren news agency reports.
Gefle Dagblad also writes that the boy was beaten with a stick and, through violence and threats, forced to put various objects into his mouth, drink different substances, and bark like a dog.
For these acts, the boys have now been convicted of aggravated assault and aggravated unlawful coercion, Siren writes. The court found that all three took part in the abuse, acted together, and encouraged one another. They were therefore convicted as accomplices.
All three admitted responsibility for assault of the ordinary degree, and one of them also admitted unlawful coercion of the ordinary degree.
TV4 reports that two of the boys have been sentenced to youth care. The third received a more severe sentence: 85 hours of youth community service, as he was also convicted—despite denying the charge—of an earlier assault on a girl of the same age that allegedly took place at the school during school hours earlier that month. He has been ordered to pay SEK 8,000 in compensation to the girl.
The three have also been ordered to pay SEK 101,652 in compensation to the boy they assaulted. Part of the amount is to be paid by their parents or legal guardians.
