Time and again, we have seen that August Bebel’s words have been confirmed by history. Long before the First World War, this co-founder of German social democracy declared that «antisemitism is the socialism of fools». Unfortunately, he was right, and we have lived with the consequences of this folly for a good 125 years.
Antisemitism became a central element in the socialism that Adolf Hitler inflicted upon the world. Later we saw the persecution of Jews in «people’s democracies» such as the Soviet Union, Czechoslovakia, Hungary and Poland. Subsequently, Jew-hatred made its official entry onto the Western European left and found expression when Jeremy Corbyn became leader of the British Labour Party. Today antisemitism also has a firm foothold in the furthest fringes of the French left.
For the most part, Jew-hatred hides behind «anti-Zionism» – that is, the denial of Israel’s right to exist. Or one claims that there is nothing reprehensible about criticising the Israeli government. There are up to two hundred governments, most of which there is every reason to criticise. Yet it is always only the Israeli government that must answer to left-wing opinion. Has the European and American left had a bad word to say about communist dictatorships in Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua or China? Do socialists lie awake in worry over the general evil of this world? Of course not, for as the saying goes: «No Jews, No News.» If one cannot in one way or another hold Jews responsible for all misfortunes, they are not interesting.
Since the beginning of President Biden’s term in 2021, antisemitism has made a triumphant entry into the US Democratic Party, spurred on by an ever more powerful communist left. It describes itself as «democratic socialist», but there is not much democracy to be found among the candidates the Democrats are promoting ahead of the November midterms. «Democratic» has been invented to deceive gullible voters and fawning media both at home and in Europe.
After the recent primaries, it looks as though the far left will for now be able to send at least 12 members to the House of Representatives, and possibly one or two members to the Senate – in addition to several local assemblies.
A good number of Democratic voters are clearly very pleased with the far left’s slogans, but the majority probably are not.
The socialists/communists are therefore using an old and well-tested strategy known as entryism. The idea is that if one cannot achieve a majority oneself, one can instead infiltrate (enter) another party that traditionally enjoys support from large parts of the electorate – in this specific case the Democratic Party, which only a few years ago would have rejected any thought that the USA should become communist. But particularly since the Islamist-communist Zohran Mamdani’s victory in last year’s mayoral election in New York, his little apprentices have sprung up like mushrooms on a wet autumn day.
Their well-financed main organisation, The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), is cunning. It fields its candidates in safe Democratic districts, where they can concentrate on ousting traditional Democrats.
Among the latest examples is the primary in Colorado’s 1st congressional district, where the «democratic» socialist Melat Kiros from Ethiopia has just defeated Diana DeGette, who has represented the district for nearly 30 years. The reason she was removed is not that DeGette can be called moderate, for she has been a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus and has supported a range of the far left’s pet causes, including the abolition of US border control.
DeGette’s real sin is that she has not jumped on the DSA’s anti-Israeli and anti-American rhetoric.
Hatred of Jews, the USA and Western civilisation has become a winner in American politics – to such a degree that hardly any established Democrats dare condemn it, for if they do, they can be certain of facing Islamist-communist challengers in the next primary. They also know that the political energy in the Democratic Party springs from the ever more extreme left. Instead of confronting the Muslim, communist and antisemitic lunatics, the party’s old leaders have begun to defend their own cowardice by saying that the Democrats are «a big tent» where there must be room for everyone, including candidates who hate the USA, advocate the nationalisation of the means of production, praise Hamas and rejoice over the mass murder of Jews on 7 October 2023. Everyone shall be welcome in the beautiful new Democratic Party.
There are essentially only two prominent Democrats who have the courage to openly oppose the party’s derailment, namely Senator John Fetterman from Pennsylvania and the former party strategist James Carville. The others are hiding. One must therefore fear not only for the USA’s but for the entire West’s future if the Democrats should win the midterms. In that case there will be, in both the Senate and the House of Representatives, a powerful antisemitic, anti-American and anti-Western bloc thirsting only for revenge on the social order that the West has tried to uphold.
This post is long enough. I shall therefore refrain from quoting the Democrats’ foremost communists and Islam advocates for their latest statements.
But if anyone asks, I can deliver.
