Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) is consolidating its position as Germany’s largest party, but in real-political terms that means nothing so long as those who do not oppose the takeover and Islamisation of the country are, taken together, larger.
A poll by RTL/ntv admittedly shows that the once great catch-all party SPD, the Social Democrats, now has the support of only 11 per cent of voters – a decline from 16.4 points at last year’s federal election.
In return, the far left is making gains. The Greens have increased from 11.6 per cent at the previous election to 15 per cent now, and Die Linke – the successor to the former Communist Party – stands at 11 per cent, compared with 8.8 per cent at the 2025 election.
The far left can thus today muster a quarter of the electorate. If one adds the Social Democrats, the combined left would account for 37 per cent of the vote were an election to be held today.
Chancellor Friedrich Merz of the nominally bourgeois CDU has also had to surrender a considerable number of his voters, from 28.5 per cent at last year’s federal election to 22 per cent now.
The nationalist and immigration-critical party AfD now enjoys the support of 29 per cent of voters, compared with 20.8 per cent last year.
Taken together, Germany’s imaginary right wing, consisting of the CDU and AfD, would therefore account for half of the German vote and thus be close to governmental power. But that can be forgotten entirely. For, as we see in one Western country after another, the left/right axis no longer applies.
Today the political struggle stands between the patriotic, who oppose the country being taken over by foreigners and Islamised, and everyone else – regardless of whether they call themselves bourgeois, Social Democrats, liberals, Greens, or socialists. What all these parties have in common is that they despise the native population and wish to replace it with another.
We recognise it from Denmark as well, where the party that hates Danes the most, the Social Liberal Party (De Radikale), can once again pursue its Islamist and anti-national game from the seats of government.
We shall never rid ourselves of this plague.
