Arran Acib Ahmed (23), from the Swedish immigrant gang charged with the knife robbery of a Norwegian in Poland last week, has previously been convicted in Sweden of aggravated assault resulting in death.
According to the Swedish press and the Polish outlet Visegrad24, Ahmed is said to have an extensive criminal record consisting of eight previous convictions.
The details are not known, apart from the fact that Fria Tider writes that he was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment in Gothenburg in 2024 for the aggravated assault of a man whom he kicked in the head.
The man remained in a coma until he died two days later.
The prosecution wanted Ahmed to be convicted of murder, but the district court held that it had not been proven that Ahmed’s kick to the head caused or contributed to the death.

He was therefore convicted of aggravated assault.
This despite the fact that the same court concluded that the blood found on Ahmed’s shoe originated from the victim’s head.
The sentence was two years’ imprisonment. In practice, that means one year and four months behind bars in Sweden as well.
Attack on alleged paedophile
According to Fria Tider, the man who was killed had been identified as a paedophile on the basis of rumours. A photograph of him was published in a Snapchat group shortly before the attack.
The man was first assaulted by a group of individuals on a footpath near Kaneltorget. Shortly afterwards, Acib Ahmed arrived in the area by car together with his immigrant gang.
The Gothenburg District Court established that Acib Ahmed kicked the victim in the stomach so that he fell to the ground. He then kicked him in the head while he was lying down.
The court described the assault as entirely unprovoked and as part of a vigilante group that emerged from social media.
In all seven preceding criminal cases, Ahmed is said to have escaped with lenient sentences. He now risks 20 years’ imprisonment for armed robbery in Poland, together with the other accused, who are identified by the Polish police as Mohamad H. (17), Jabril H. (18) and Senal Saned O. (19).
The police have not provided any further information about the Norwegian who was robbed at knifepoint. He had been partying together with the Swedish immigrant gang at a venue in central Gdańsk before, later that night, being attacked and robbed by the same gang and forced to hand over his mobile telephone and bank card together with the PIN code.
