Charlottesville, August 17, 2017: White supremacists marched chanting “You will not replace us.” Was this march too financed by anti-racists? Antifa and the liberal media have been feeding off Charlottesville ever since.
Southern Poverty Law Center was an institution on the left in the United States. On Tuesday, the Department of Justice brought 11 charges. SPLC has financed its opponents so that they would create disturbances and thereby legitimise SPLC’s work. It remains to be seen whether the donors will endorse such reasoning, for what is the difference between KKK and SPLC if Ku Klux Klan is financed by Southern Poverty Law Center?
According to the press release, it appears from the indictment that “from the 1980s onwards, SPLC began to operate a secret network of individuals who were either affiliated with violent and extremist groups, such as the Ku Klux Klan”:
According to the indictment, in the 1980s SPLC began to operate a secret network of individuals who were either affiliated with violent and extremist groups, such as the Ku Klux Klan, or who had infiltrated violent extremist groups on behalf of SPLC. Without the donors’ knowledge, part of the money they donated was used to finance leaders and organisers of racist groups, while SPLC simultaneously condemned the same groups on its website.
SPLC is also alleged to have “channelled more than 3 million dollars in donated funds to individuals who were affiliated with” groups such as National Socialist Movement, United Klans of America and Sadistic Souls Motorcycle Club, which is affiliated with Aryan Nations, between 2014 and 2023, according to the press release.
“SPLC creates racism in order to justify its existence,” said Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche in a statement. “Using donor funds to allegedly profit from clan members cannot remain undisclosed.”
That the left finances its enemies in order to gain momentum is, for the time being, a new low. However, during the 2016 election campaign there were groups connected to Hillary that paid troublemakers to disrupt Trump’s rallies. The objective was to demonstrate that Trump’s rhetoric meant violence. They never succeeded.
FBI Director Kash Patel was unsparing:
“SPLC is alleged to have carried out an extensive fraud operation to deceive its donors, enrich itself and conceal its misleading activities from the public,” said Patel. “They lied to their donors and promised to combat violent extremist groups, but instead turned around and paid the leaders of precisely these extremist groups – and even used the funds to enable these groups to facilitate the commission of crimes at state and federal level.”
