The news that the US is withdrawing its long-range bombers from the Fairford base tells us that Washington no longer trusts London. The UK no longer has a security policy that prioritises its relationship with its most important ally and the safety of its own citizens. Priority is being given to the interests of foreigners – read: the Muslim population. That is how far things have come.
Alert neighbours near the base ensured that five masked men were apprehended in the middle of the night last Sunday. They were driving vans bearing forged logos of local fuel suppliers. The vehicles were carrying large drums of fuel. We do not know what their plan was, and we may never find out, as Scotland Yard released them the following day. An Iranian man who was arrested a couple of days later was also released.
‘Incomprehensible,’ said Trump.
Around a dozen B-1 bombers were among the aircraft deployed from the Royal Air Force (RAF) base at Fairford in Gloucestershire, England, a US official told Fox News. The base is the only European forward operating base for US heavy bombers.
“We can now confirm that all US bombers deployed at RAF Fairford, have been returned to their home bases in the US,” said a department official.
This is more than just an isolated incident. It may signal that the US no longer trusts the British authorities. Specifically, this concerns the security of the bombers, but even more seriously: that the British can no longer be trusted. This could have far-reaching consequences. Norway works closely with the British. If trust in a formerly rock-solid ally crumbles, it could drag others down with it. The Americans may start to look at the signals European ‘allies’ have been sending out since Trump made his historic comeback, and they will easily conclude that he was not received with enthusiasm.
The antipathy has been stronger than the sympathy. All the time.
If you can no longer trust your partner to safeguard the security of your forward-deployed bombers, the partnership is not worth much. Especially not during a war.
The British released six men who were most likely paid by Iran. Marco Rubio said: ‘A foreign power is involved.’
We know that Iran pays others to carry out acts of terrorism and assassinations on the territory of third countries.
By releasing those arrested, London is signalling to Iran: ‘We do not wish to be at odds with you. Don’t harm us!
As mayor, Sadiq Khan is setting a standard and a tone: he is no exception. He is charting the course for the new Britain and empowering Muslims. It is their capital now. The same mood is spreading to all the European capitals.
Oslo is following the same pattern as London: there is no great difference between Anne Lindbo and Sadiq Khan. She was inspired by Mamdani in New York. Støre, too, found reason to visit Mamdani during his UN trip.
These are symbolic gestures to show which side one is on.
Muslims understand this. But so does Trump’s America, and the distance from Europe is growing proportionally.
Europe and the US part ways when values have security implications, and that is what the British demonstrated when they released the terror suspects.
The same signal was sent when the Labour Party and the Socialist Left Party cancelled Asle Toje’s speech at the War Sailors’ Monument. Labour leader Scharning Lund said it was out of consideration for the 230,000 immigrants in Oslo. What was the connection?
That’s how ‘woke’ works. They have sensitivities that they impose on others, and the left internalises the sensitivities of Muslims. That’s when freedom shrinks rapidly.
The US has an advantage: they see ‘woke’ as an open book. It was at American universities that ‘woke’ was hatched.
But Europeans are firmly convinced that they are morally superior.
They revel in their condemnation of Trump’s policies; they even twist the bombing of cartel boats into an attack on Trump.
An outsider would easily see that the Europeans are digging their own grave.
No one will come to our rescue this time, unless we change course ourselves.
A Europe that allows Islam to dictate policy and welfare and clings to the green transition, whilst sacrificing the Ukrainians in a senseless war, is heading towards a place we would rather not imagine.
