On Sunday 1 February at Youngstorget, Oslo, I will once again burn the hijab. This is the fourth year I have done so. But this year the act feels heavier, more painful, and more necessary than ever, writes Lily Bandehy on Facebook. “I burn the hijab in solidarity with the 36,500 families who have lost loved ones, with the more than 10,000 who have lost their sight, and with the hundreds of thousands of wounded, disappeared, and arrested Iranians inside Iran.”
