Four people were injured in a stabbing near Amsterdam Centraal railway station on Saturday evening, writes NL Times.
The suspect was also among the injured, and was first taken to hospital and then arrested. Police say that the injuries are not life-threatening.
The suspect was later identified as a 43-year-old man from Naarden.
NL Times does not give the name of the suspect, but the Dutch outlet VKMAG and others have identified the perpetrator as Angelo Bryson.
Converted to Islam
Bryson is a personal trainer and known as the personality Superhuman Unchained.
According to Hungarian Conservative (HC), he describes himself as an influencer, entrepreneur and motivator with the slogan “discipline over motivation”.
HC writes that his profile also increasingly focused on Islam, Palestine and North African politics.
The Dutch website GeenStijl reports that Bryson recently converted to Islam and regularly participated in pro-Palestinian demonstrations.
Copenhagen Radio writes that he is an immigrant who recently converted to Islam, and that he has modelled his streaming career on the “genocide grifters” Sneako and Hasan Piker.
Alcohol is to blame
The violence broke out at around 7.30 pm on De Ruijterkade, on the IJ side of the station. This video shows the moments before the attack.
The attack itself was filmed for only a few seconds before the video was switched off.
Hungarian Conservative writes that footage from the TikTok account shows Bryson initially shadowboxing, before an argument breaks out with a group of six or seven men.
He repeatedly tells them not to touch him, that he is not afraid of six or seven men, and that they are all going to fall.
Eventually, he says “alcohol does this”, moves towards the group with a knife, and a fight breaks out.
This video, filmed by a passer-by, shows the scene after the stabbing. Bryson can be seen towards the end of the video, where he is standing and watching and has not yet been arrested.
In some images, we can see police talking to Bryson, and many are wondering why he is not in handcuffs.
Police have confirmed that the altercation was livestreamed on TikTok, but have not publicly confirmed the suspect’s identity or established who was responsible for the individual injuries.
The new normal
Images are circulating of Bryson receiving a Koran during a trip to Morocco, Hungarian Conservative writes further.
He had travelled south through Spain towards Morocco as part of an endurance project; his website describes the journey from Almería to Morocco as a demonstration of endurance and mental strength.
GeenStijl also writes that he has claimed that Ceuta, the Spanish enclave on the North African coast, belongs to Morocco.
There is a video on X showing him receiving the Koran and saying that this is the best thing that has happened to him in Morocco. Now he will get the truth about Allah in the Koran, and no other.
