A brutal video from North Belfast is spreading rapidly on social media. The footage shows an African man attempting to behead a man with a knife in broad daylight on a public street, while shocked witnesses try to stop him.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) confirms that officers responded to Kinnaird Avenue in North Belfast shortly after 10.30 p.m. on Monday evening.
– One man has been arrested in connection with the incident and remains in police custody, while another man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries, PSNI states.
The video circulating on social media is extremely brutal. You can watch the uncensored video yourself below. The man appears to be of African origin and is attempting to behead a man with a knife.

The area was cordoned off after the attack, and police remained at the scene throughout the night and into Tuesday morning. PSNI is now asking witnesses, or persons with dashcam or CCTV footage from the area, to come forward.
The incident has created fear within the local community.
DUP politician Jordan Doran told Irish News that he was “shocked and deeply concerned” by the incident, and that many residents have made contact because they feel unsafe.
– People deserve to feel safe in their homes and communities, regardless of where they live. What is beyond any doubt is that violence of this kind has no place in North Belfast, Doran writes.
PSNI has not yet made public the man’s identity, nationality, migration status, or motive.
