– “Paris will soon become a Muslim city,” Donald Trump told journalists outside the White House on Monday.
In a video clip published by Euronews, the US President says:
“I told him a long time ago: ‘You’re making a big mistake in France. You’re letting people in from all over the world. The whole world has been pouring in’. And, as you know, Paris will soon become a Muslim city. And that wasn’t the intention. I told Emmanuel: ‘You should close the borders’. I’ve known him for about eight or nine years. I told him that as soon as I met him.”
The New York Post has further details:
Trump made the remark about Paris when a journalist mentioned that Macron was blaming the US leader’s war against Iran for the unrest in his country, which had driven up global fuel costs.
Trump’s prediction for France applies to Europe in general:
“If Europe doesn’t close its borders and deport criminals, such as those taking part in the protests, Europe is finished. Europe must close its borders, as I have been telling them for ten years,” Trump added.
They must remove people who hate their countries, otherwise they are finished. They will have no chance of survival,” he continued.
Trump said that France must remove immigrants who “hate the country – they hate the buildings. They hate the people. They hate the art. They must close their borders and remove these bad people’.
On Sunday, Trump wrote on Truth Social:
“France is on fire! The influx of people from a completely different world – people with hatred in their hearts – has destroyed this once-wonderful country. Close the borders and take control, before it’s too late!”
In a speech to his supporters on Saturday, Trump joked about how people could spend the $5,000 he has promised to every adult American if the Republicans win the mid-term elections:
“Let’s go to France and join the revolution!” he said, parodying something a recipient of the promised sum might say to their partner.
The US President has repeatedly warned European leaders that they are in the process of destroying their countries. “Your countries are going to hell,” he told the UN General Assembly in 2025, addressing European allies.
Trump also commented on the situation in France earlier this month.
