An exit poll from the state election in Saxony-Anhalt suggests that the AfD has become by far the largest party, with 44 per cent of the vote. That may be enough to win an outright majority in the state parliament, but only the vote count will show. In any event, the election is a triumph for Ulrich Siegmund and the party.
The AfD’s triumph shows that the politicians who set about abolishing Germany are being replaced. This powerful trend is evident across Europe. People have abandoned established political parties because they feel these parties are to blame for their losing their country, and have turned to the AfD in the hope that perhaps they will not lose it completely.
