The Government is trying to capitalise politically on Norway’s FIFA World Cup campaign. Minister of Culture and Equality Lubna Jaffery claims that state funding from the national football pools and Norway’s grassroots football system produced the team that defeated Brazil. At best, that is only half the story. Nor is this the only sense of community the Labour Party seeks to exploit. It also promotes Pride and a woke-inspired school system that divides the population. These are, the author argues, artificial forms of community.
