So the temperatures for April are here, we see. EU scientists from the Copernicus programme, who are always so eager to report on “heat records”, have now released their figures.
And yes, it was apparently a warm April, globally speaking. As much as 1.5 degrees above the average for pre-industrial times, they claim. That’s almost a new record, according to them. But it is not a new record. It was the second warmest April on record, globally.
With all this doomsday talk about global warming, you’d think that every single month would smash all previous records by a clear margin. But no, even in the “climate year” of 2025, April was only number two on the list. This is an important point that climate alarmists would rather sweep under the carpet. It doesn’t fit into the narrative of the unstoppable, man-made rise in temperature when even the “warmest” months fail to set new records.
But wait, it gets “worse” for the alarmists. The report from the EU researchers, which NTB so willingly presents, also shows something else. Something that undermines the whole idea that everything is getting warmer, everywhere, all the time. Because yes, it was certainly warm in some places – eastern Europe, parts of Russia and Kazakhstan, and yes, in Norway too. For Europe as a whole, April was the sixth warmest. That’s all well and good.
But then come the unpleasant truths for the climate priests. After all, the report also mentions areas that had below-average temperatures for the month of April! Yes, you read that right. Colder than usual! But where? Well, in southern South America, eastern Canada, north-eastern Greenland and Svalbard, northern Australia and eastern Antarctica.

So, while they talk about a “long-term trend” of rising temperatures, large parts of the globe, from the Arctic to Antarctica, and over large land masses, have experienced temperatures below normal for the season. How does this fit into the one-sided picture of a boiling planet? Of course it doesn’t. It shows that reality is far more complex than the climate alarmists and their willing microphones in the media would have us believe.
<“Focusing only on the areas that are warmer than usual and inflating ‘near-records’ while elegantly ignoring large areas that are colder than usual is dishonest. It’s an attempt to manipulate people’s perceptions and whip up a mood of panic.
So thanks for the numbers, EU scientists. They only confirm what we already knew: The weather varies. The climate varies. And reality, thankfully, is more resistant to politically biased reports than the alarmists hope.
No new record, and colder than usual in many places. Let’s focus on facts, not fear-mongering.
