Joshua Kerry (28) murdered Ann Widdecombe in an exceptionally brutal manner. According to the prosecution, he struck her 21 times on the head with a hammer.

The 78-year-old Widdecombe was found dead at her home in Devon, south-west England, on 9 July, the day after she was attacked.

Widdecombe served in the British Parliament for the Conservative Party for more than 20 years until 2010. She later joined Nigel Farage’s Reform party, where she served as spokesperson on immigration and justice policy.

The reporting of the murder is peculiar. The police have been unwilling to acknowledge that this was a political killing.

Instead, Reform is portrayed with suspicion as a “far-right” party, thereby helping to legitimise attacks on leading politicians.
