MIFF placed full-page newspaper advertisements thanking Israel for having prevented Assad, Saddam and Khamenei from acquiring nuclear weapons. However, three newspapers flatly refused to print the advertisement: Vårt Land, Dagsavisen and Klassekampen.
Vårt Land will not print the advertisement at all. “This can be interpreted as celebrating that people die,” said editor-in-chief Bjørn Bore. – Unfortunately, we cannot print this advertisement; it has not been approved for print, replied Klassekampen’s head of advertising sales. Has the editor provided a justification? asked MIFF. – No, came the reply. – The advertisement is aggressive and gives thanks for a war under international law, so it cannot be printed, replied Marius Floberghagen, marketing manager at Dagsavisen.
