The main players in the Epstein saga are positioning themselves to avoid taking responsibility. Klaus Schwab claims that Børge Brende never told him about the connection with Jeffrey Epstein. Brende counters and says it happened in 2019.
In an internal WEF letter mentioned by the newspaper Neue Zürcher Zeitung (NZZ) , Scwab writes that he has not been informed of Brende’s contact with the sex offender, as Brende himself says he has done.
“I was never informed, neither after the indictment of Jeffrey Epstein nor later,” writes Schwab, according to Dagens Næringsliv.
According to NZZ, he is now considering legal action against Brende.
Klaus Schwab founded the forum back in 1971 and was the face of the WEF until last year.
“At no time was I informed, verbally or in writing, of any facts or concerns related to your relationship with Epstein,” he writes, according to DN.
Schwab has so many skeletons in his own closet that he may struggle to be believed. He was forced to step down after a series of revelations involving sexual harassment and discrimination.
Brende says he informed Schwab in 2019.
“I informed Klaus Schwab in 2019 that I had had contact with Epstein. An external review has now been initiated and I look forward to them finalising their work and I cannot comment further until this is complete.
The former Norwegian Foreign Minister has stated that the organisation will conduct an independent review of the case. He has also issued further apologies (NTB)
