The newly elected Prime Minister of Canada, Mark Carney, promises a «new way forward» in a changed world. Some may think it will be more of the same as under Trudeau.

The Liberal Party leader secured a remarkable comeback victory for the party, which was heading for electoral defeat under an increasingly unpopular Justin Trudeau.

In a speech to his supporters in Ottawa, Carney, a former governor of the Bank of England, said Trump’s repeated description of Canada as the 51st state was not an «empty threay». But Carney promised Canadians that Trump would not be able to destroy Canada, according to The Telegraph.

– President Trump is trying to crush us so America can own us, but that will never happen.

– As I’ve been warning for months, America wants to take our land, our resources, our water. We are over the shock of the American betrayal, but we should never forget what we have learnt.

It is still not certain whether Carney will lead a majority or minority government, as the count is still ongoing. If Carney fails to achieve a majority, he will have to strike deals with smaller parties, such as the Bloc Québécois.

In that case, Canada will continue sailing without anyone really in full control of the helm. But Carney promises big changes. It’s like listening to Obama, and it doesn’t bode well.

Carney says that the long and good relationship with the US is history (it’s over).

– We can give ourselves far more than the Americans can give us, says Carney.

But he doesn’t hide the fact that this will require a lot from citizens. The reward awaits in an imagined future:

– Will will build a strong Canada, a free Canada. Canada forever – Vive le Canada!

Carney vowed to «govern for all Canadians» after his party was elected to sit in government for the fourth time in a row, in a historic comeback for a party that just a few months ago appeared to be completely lost, writes the National Post.

Trudeau opened the borders to mass immigration, praised Islam, and bullied the population during the pandemic. The protesting truckers in particular took a beating.

As a supporter of the World Economic Forum, Trudeau was of course a climate fanatic, Islamophile, LGBTQ ideologue and he was considered the prince of woke. As a result, he was unpopular at home but beloved by regime media in Western Europe.

Carney has a rather unsuccessful background as a central bank governor, both at the Bank of England and the Bank of Canada. But the fact that he wasn’t Trudeau was enough to secure his victory.
