The world’s largest aircraft carrier does not move deep into a narrow fjord for military reasons. The visit sends a political message. But what it amounts to depends on the eyes of the beholder. One thing is easy to ascertain: There is almost no criticism anymore of the US war machine. We are taken under its protective wings.
