The gym chain hopes that the new changing room will ensure that more people use the centre.

At the Domus Athletica centre at Blindern in Oslo, visitors now have the opportunity to use a gender-neutral changing room.

We find that more and more people are asking for a neutral changing room for many different reasons, so we simply opened this area because of the demand from members with different needs, says Petter Kleven, head of SiO Athletica, to Avisa Oslo.

Everyone, regardless of gender and age, can use the changing room. This also applies regardless of gender identity, as well as families with children who want to change in the same room.

The changing room has a shared shower, a toilet with no separate cubicles.

We opened it on Tuesday, so far we haven’t received much feedback, but the feedback we have received has been very positive, says Kleven.
