Philip Westh (32) was charged with the kidnapping and rape of 13-year-old Filippa on Monday a week ago. It was in the same area of southwestern Zealand where Emilie Meng disappeared in the summer of 2016. In the same way as with Filippa, her fate has engaged many. Now the Danish police believe they have solved the mystery.

Danish police held a press conference on Wednesday where they announced the charge.

17-year-old Emilie Meng disappeared from Korsør in Zealand on 10 July 2016 and was found murdered later that year.

The 32-year-old was arrested for abducting a 13-year-old girl in Kirkerup on Zealand a week and a half ago. At a press conference on Wednesday, the police confirmed that the man is also charged with Meng’s murder. (NTB-ritzau)
