Spanish media have revealed that several organisations active during the riots in France in October have received support from, or had links to, George Soros’ Open Society Foundations.
The report comes as activists are planning new riots and a pan-European youth uprising.
According to the Spanish newspaper La Gaceta, at least seven organisations that took part in or supported the October unrest have had financial or institutional links to Open Society, a far-left foundation that has for decades funded anti-Western organisations across national borders. Fox News has previously identified 101 organisations in 13 countries that are alleged to have coordinated, organised or contributed to spreading or intensifying the riots.
Open Society denies that it supports or funds violent protests
Open Society’s most direct link is to the French ‘human rights organisation’ Ligue des droits de l’Homme (LDH).
LDH’s own grant records show three payments from Open Society to the organisation: $82,538 in 2016 and $300,184 spread across two grants in 2017.
The funds were used to oppose the police in Paris, to campaign for an end to the state of emergency following the 2015 terrorist attacks, and for general work to combat “discrimination and improve the protection of rights” for minorities. During the events of recent weeks, LDH has defended the riots and criticised the police’s handling of the rioters.
The Open Society Foundations has previously rejected claims that the foundation supports or funds violent protests. Nor does a previous grant mean that the foundation is directing or funding the current riots.
“George Soros: No, I think there’s a great misunderstanding. I am basically there to make money. I cannot and do not look at the social consequences of what I do.”
Wow, does George Soros have a moral compass?

The riots on 17 October drew crowds of more than half a million people. They escalated into widespread looting, arson and clashes. Around 2,400 people were arrested, and nearly 1,000 police and gendarmerie officers were injured. Several towns imposed curfews, and the government has announced cuts to social security benefits for those convicted of looting.

International protests are being planned
The organisers have already announced new protests: ‘Acte II’ on 24 October, with more than 200 planned demonstrations, and ‘Acte III’ on 31 October. On 20 November, international protests will be held under the slogan ‘Fight for Our Future, Not Their Wars’. Socialist and Islamic ‘pro-Palestine’ groups in countries including Belgium, Germany, Italy, Spain, Ireland and the UK have so far joined the call for strikes, blockades and occupations. In Italy, the CGIL trade union has called for a general strike on the same date.
The ‘Fight for Our Future, Not Their Wars’ manifesto describes war and climate change as ‘the essence of capitalism’ and calls, amongst other things, for the dissolution of NATO.
The unrest has already spread to several countries, including Belgium, Italy, Albania and Portugal (linked to the housing crisis and the cost of living). In France, the debate continues regarding the police response, the organisation behind the protests and external sources of funding.
Open Society has publicly listed LDH among the French recipients of funding since the foundation began operating in the country in the early 2000s.
Exactly what is happening in Western Europe. NGOs, George Soros and Neville Roy Singham fund open borders in Western Europe and now they’re funding this communist uprising.
They hate Nationalist Europe and Nationalist America.
Stop these communists.
They must face justice. pic.twitter.com/2PHhyuP7br— Thomas C. (@Rapidfire816) 18 October 2026
In Norway, too, warnings are being issued that the riots could reach us:
