Bibi Netanyahu is meeting Trump at the White House, and NRK is once again playing the war card. Just as it did before the war against Iran began on 28 February, when Netanyahu’s visit coincided with the outbreak of the war, NRK’s Aida Khorami predicts that the same thing will happen again. Netanyahu is coming to persuade Trump to finish the job.
It is a well-known manipulative tactic to confuse causality with temporal coincidence. The fact that people meet and something subsequently happens does not mean that the two events are connected.
The theory that Bibi persuaded Trump emerged only afterwards. It was promoted by The New York Times, which is now only a shadow of its former self. But not for the Norwegian media, which continue to refer to the Gray Lady as the gold standard long after it was caught engaging in deception during the Russia collusion affair.
The explanation is simple: the Norwegian media are peddling the same falsehoods as The New York Times and The Washington Post.
Khorami is not as aggressive as Yama Wolasmal. She sounds more like a young girl. But she receives her talking points from Marienlyst and dutifully feeds them to us.
Had she possessed a little critical judgement, she might have wondered why Marco Rubio is said to have described the plans for an attack on Iran as “piss”.
We see no signs of division within the Trump administration, even though the mainstream media are doing everything they can to find some.
Had there been disagreement over the war, it would have leaked out long ago.
NRK quotes Iranian spokesmen claiming that they are only growing stronger and can withstand anything, while Trump’s popularity is suffering because of the war.
It sounds like something commissioned directly from Tehran.
Buried within this journalism is antisemitism. Netanyahu is portrayed as the Jew who comes to persuade the United States to wage yet another war on Israel’s behalf. This is a narrative that has taken root on both the right and the left in the United States.
In Norway, it is the prevailing view among the elite and the media.
